Maybe I'm paranoid, but it only takes one person for you to accidentally approve to see you geo-locations for you to have a real problem. The future of geo services are the location-based services for getting directions, finding goods and services, and advertising. Location broadcasting services are a fad that will pass. From someone who has traveled quite a bit and has a family, I don’t like broadcasting my location to people. So much so I was *happy* when I wrested the Mayorship of a Valero away from someone (Valero is a convenience store...). Pathetic, I know. I love the Foursquare's / Gowalla's at conferences, they are great for tracking down friends and fun. But for every day use? I dunno... I've thought of the danger element for females. Equally dangerous is the fact that if I check in at some random place, it's a strong indicator that my wife is home alone. At least there are the Rottweiler's and the 9mm (and she's a great shot).
