Gday, I completely concur. I found your website through Bing and after reading this post I decided to comment on your blog. My personal scenario is that I’ve been using no cost website hosting with out a website name before and ultimately got bitten in the back. Free Web hosting isn’t good and no matter what you are doing on the web, it is best to have your own website name – just like you right here. It doesn’t matter what topic an individual write about – this is the way to go.

Installing Wordpress into a directory will work, but simply moving index.php into your root directory will not. Once you set up Wordpress the way you like it, you need to move all files and folders to the root directory.

Suppose I already have an html site on my GoDaddy account, but want to convert that into a WordPress site. If I install WP into a subdirectory (mydomain.com/wordpress) do I run any risk of breaking the existing site? If not, then I’m guessing I could re-create all my current pages within WP, and when I’m done simply remove the existing site files and move the index.php file from the wordpress directory to the root directory.

Is there a risk to my existing site if I do this? I need it to remain live while I recreate it in WP.
